a visual diary of summer.

I've been wondering at the sun,

How it hangs interminably in the sky

only to sneak out in those last moments of light.

Its summer here

because I suppose its winter there.

We've been waiting for longer days, warmer oceans,

the return of birds;

The feeling of warm sand between our toes.

We cherish this:

This warmth so keenly felt,

Until it recedes into the depths of its opposite,

When darkness comes.

It was summer here.
